Looking to the Future
Monday, November 24, 2014
For some reason, this post just hasn't been coming very easily. (That's just how it goes, sometimes.) So instead of trying to be eloquent and amazing, I'm just going to be real and jump right in!
The past month or so has involved a lot of thinking on my part. It's really started to hit home that this is my junior year in high-school. What!?! How can it be that I only have a year and a half left before I graduate? And I have to start applying for college this summer!
Cue panic mode!
Yes- I admit it. I've been in a bit of a shock and frenzy this past week. It's really seemed to ram home the idea of being so very close to graduation, and it's got me thinking a lot about the future and where God is calling me to be- not only for school, but also for my blog.
And I came to a few conclusions because of this.
1. I need to blog more. Originally, I had decided to write a blog post every Monday. But now, a few posts later, I am seeing that this is simply not enough. I need (and want!) to write more. So from this point on, I'll be getting out a post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. That's three posts a week!
Monday will be encouragement for your week, Wednesday will be an update on my current projects, and Friday is reserved for whatever I feel like writing at the time!
2. I needed a new newsletter, so I got one. My old newsletter was simply the default program that came with a Blogger hosted website. However, I really wasn't very satisfied it. There was no customization available, and it didn't feel very personal.
So I switched over to using Mailchimp, and I'm already very satisfied with it. It's much more user-friendly, I can customize the template, and I feel more connected with my subscribers. If you haven't signed up already, be sure to do that, but if you already subscribed, don't worry! You're still on the list.
3. I should start accepting guest posts! It's something I've been thinking about for a while now, and I've finally decided to start doing it. If you would like to contact me about possibly writing something, you can send me an email at anastasiarosewrites@gmail.com.
With the holidays coming up, I'll be looking especially for anything involving Christmas or the New Year, but if you have something else you think would fit on here, than feel free to send it to me. I am working on getting up more information about submitting an article, so keep an eye out for that!
I guess all of this is to say that, I want to connect with my readers. That's what blogging is, in a way. It's not just me rambling on about this, that, or the other. It's not a monologue or a one-sided conversation.
It's about community.
And I want you to be a part of it.

I'd love to get some feedback on the changes I'm making! Is there something more that you'd like to see here? What sorts of blog posts do you want more of? Leave your suggestions in the comment section below or over at my Facebook page, or you can send me an email at anastasiarosewrites@gmail.com.

Well, aren't you fancy! Your own blog email and a Mailchimp account. I never thought I'd see the day. *sniff* ;p
ReplyDeleteBut for real, I'm super proud of you for keeping up with this whole blog thing and pursuing and developing a dream and talent God has gifted you with. <3 I'll love you forever, my dear one. And I might just have to submit a guest post to you sometime if I get around to it. Don't know if it'll be up to standard for you, but I won't be offended if you turn me down. ;)
I need to get around to setting up a newsletter for my blog...add that to my mike-long to-do list! ;-) For me and my story, where God has called me has shifted, even from the degree I got 5 years ago. So don't let panic-mode consume you (although I know you won't!). What's next after graduation is a big step, but if you don't have all the answers, it'll be okay!
