Episode 13

This is Day 22 of a 31 Day writing challenge. To read more about my 31 Days series and to catch up on any posts you've missed, be sure to check out my post 31 Days of INSPIRE!
So... I've been watching this show. It's called Chuck.
It's really good.
(That's the main guy. His name is Chuck. Go figure.)
As we were watching the other day, we hit a particularly amazing episode. It was one of those "mid-season finale" episodes that changes the entire course of the show.
Episode 13.
It was so good!!!
But then came Episode 14... Now don't get me wrong! Episode 14 wasn't bad. Actually, it was really good.
Just not as good as Episode 13 was.
And as I was talking about these two episodes with my dad, I had a thought. An epiphany, if you will.
"I'd rather be Episode 13."
Now, at first, he and my sister (who was also in on this conversation) didn't really get what I meant. It's not every day that someone compares themselves to a television episode, after all, so they needed a little more insight to understand what I meant.
"Well, Episode 13 was so good. It was an epic, game-changer of an episode! I wouldn't want to be the one following and trying to be good enough. I'd want to be the one who was setting the bar high and inspiring other people to do their best."
And that's when it hit me.
I want to be inspiring other people.
I want to be a game-changer. I want people to see me and aspire to be the best they can.
So how can I do that? How can I inspire others?
...
My question for you today is how can we inspire others? What do you see in others that inspires you to better yourself? I'd love to hear what you have to say about this. Leave your response in the comment section below or over on my Facebook page!

My inspiration to do better and be better is mostly found in my three children. I want to behave and treat them in a Godly wait with the hopes that they in turn will do the same. Thank you for the question, it is thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your thoughts, today! You sound like a wonderful mom.
DeleteWhat a great analogy!! And I LOVE Chuck. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Chuck is probably one of my favorite shows! If only it had a longer run...
DeleteI want to be a game changer too. I want do inspire others by being a person who shows Gods love and is respected. I want to take chances when I need to take chances. I truly want my life to make a difference; to make a change.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your thoughts, today! This is exactly how I feel.
DeleteI LOVE Chuck! We just rediscovered it on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteBut beyond asking you which season are you watching?!... I too resonate with the desire to influence people. Have you seen Mr. Holland's Opus? As a teenager, that was the epitome to me of what it meant to inspire others. And it shaped my life.
You are an excellent writer and I encourage you to continue working to inspire through this blog. You will make a difference.
Thank you! That really means a lot to me. I believe this was written about Season 3 (I didn't want to give too much away to anyone who hadn't seen it.) I haven't seen Mr. Holland's Opus, but after looking it up, I think I'll have to try and watch it! Once again, thank you!
